There’s a new boat plying the waterfront. Her name is Minke. She’s a 26-foot Crosby powered by an 85-horsepower Perkins diesel motor. An interesting feature of this boat is the fact that she has a bow thruster which the captain controls via a joystick. Captain Blair Perkins owns Minke. He is running her as a harbor tour boat operating out of Straight Wharf. Blair’s son Max also runs the boat. Blair also owns the Shearwater. She’s a whale-watch boat. Here are a couple shots of Minke with Max Perkins at the helm and Shearwater steaming down the fairway after a day offshore whale watching this past Sunday.
